I decided to redesign this bike bell.
The first step was to take the bike bell apart.
I realized the bike bell had several unnecessary plastic parts. The grip of the bike bell when attached onto a bike handle needed to be improved, as it would move around slightly when attached. The way the tail poked out when in use could also be aesthetically improved.
Brainstorming:
Planning:
I redesigned the bike bell so that all parts could be made out of sheet metal.
This would make the bell more easy to recycle and also easy to manufacture.
Final Product created in SolidWorks:
The elasticity of the metal trigger allows the user to press on the trigger and as the metal piece recoils, it hits the bell and makes a noise.
All parts of this bell are pressed or folded into structure.
